 The Ladies have arrived

Northbrook, Illinois -- August 23, 2005 -- On Thursday, August 25 the velodrome will be featuring a “Ladies Night” with hopes of reaching new heights by having the most women racers in a single night of racing.

The “Ladies Night” feature event offers over $750 in cash and merchandise prizes, the largest total purse of the season for women racers.  As the night of racing progresses, the ladies will be forced to ‘step on their pedals’ in the 30-lap points race.  This race promises to add lots of excitement as there will be sprints every three laps to collect primes.

“Ladies Night” at the velodrome is presented through the generous contributions of Athletes by Design Women’s Program, Yojimbo’s Garage, Chicago Athlete, Katharine A. Roe Design, Mary Heinz Massage Studio, and a number of velodrome angels.

Zipp, the official wheel of Thursday night racing will again be there.  Racers will have the opportunity to win a new Zipp 900 disk wheel by purchasing a raffle ticket ($5 each).  Participants may enter as often as they like increasing their chances of winning.  The winner will be announced at the end of the season.
